About Sykes Assistance Services Corporation (SASC)

SASC takes care of clients; we are people helping people. When Canadians pick up the phone to get help – for medical issues, for roadside assistance, for many programs you know – it’s our people on the line who provide assistance when it’s needed the most.

We help over 100 private sector, public sector and Fortune 500 companies deliver the programs their clients trust.

We’re looking for good people to join our team. Keep reading if ‘people helping people’ sounds like the team you want to be on.

About you

You were called to the Nightingale way of patient care.  You became a nurse to help people when they need it the most – and that’s what you’ve done ever since.

By now, you’ve worked in acute care for at least 1 out of 3 years and you’ve seen it all.

You know how to navigate the health care system and triage patients no matter what comes your way. And now you’re looking for a way to use your clinical skills one patient at a time.  That’s what we do.

Here’s what you need to be successful as a work-from-home registered nurse:

  • Triage skills – you know when your patient needs critical care and you make sure they know it too.
  • Communication skills – you ask the right questions so you can make informed decisions about patient care.
  • Critical thinking – you’re a natural problem-solver and you know how to combine clinical guidelines and experience to provide the gold standard of care.
  • Current professional qualifications – you’re a registered nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario

A couple of administrative notes:

  • You know how to use a computer and you’ve got a high-speed internet connection.
  • You have a landline and you’re able to comply with our work-from-home privacy and security requirements (which we’ll tell you about in the interview).
  • You can work 8 or 10-hour shifts including evenings and weekends.

So what’s it like being a nurse who works from home?

About you in this role

You’re in your home office. It’s clean, it’s safe and wearing scrubs is up to you. The phone rings and your patient doesn’t know what to do. You ask questions, assess the situation and offer appropriate clinical options. Your patient is reassured by your expertise and your bedside manner.

You can expect to connect with clients who have questions about urgent care, poison control, nutrition, diabetes, smoke cessation and just about any medical issue you can think of.

You are a skilled clinician – you can think on your feet, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can triage accurately without the benefit of seeing your patient.

You make sure your calls are documented well, you take care of your administrative tasks and you’re proud to meet our quality standards – because that’s how we best serve our clients.
