POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY:
Newgate 180 is seeking a Cook for a part-time position – 20-30 hrs / week
Overview
Meal preparation and serving according to assigned menu
Organize, order and shop for food supplies taking in mind the budget and economising
Recommendations regarding cost saving measures and efficiencies
Keeping the dining room clean, neat, attractive and inviting
Setting the tables
Inventory
Menu preparation as per “Canada’s food guide”
Independently manage all kitchen, shopping and budgeting duties to provide meals for up to 20 clients
Skills Required
Cooking skills with the ability to cook and bake for large groups
Knowledge of foods and nutrition
Ability to work with special diets
Ability to cook for a varying number of people
Time management
Planning, organisation and budgeting skills
Knowledge of sanitary and safety procedures
Great customer service
Food-safety handler’s certificate
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SOME WEEKENDS (11:00 am – 5:30 pm)
Assets:
Knowledge of nutritional needs for individuals with Health issues.
Qualifications:
Min 1 yr related work experience
Hours: 20 to 37.5 a week
Salary Range: $16.11 to $17.15
Location: Merrickville, Ontario
