Tour Guide 

The Spencerville Mill Foundation is seeking summer students to serve as Tour Guide and Program /Operations/Special Events Assistants.

Position will run from July 2nd - August 30th 2019. Compensation will be Ontario Student Wage.

Duties of the incumbents include:

  • Greeting the public, conducting guided tours at the Spencerville Mill & Museum.
  • Developing and maintaining exhibits.
  • Assisting with special events and children’s programming,
  • Developing Content for Social Media Campaign.
  • Serving customers in the Mill’s gift shop.
  • Carrying out daily operations and housekeeping of the building and grounds,
  • Gardening
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications 
Applicants require excellent oral skills, ability to interact with the public, eagerness to acquire new skills; must be self-motivated and flexible, able to work independently and in a team, highly organized, task focused, agree to wear period dress when conducting guided tours, have ability to lift 25 lbs. and climb a ladder and demonstrate an awareness of health and safety concerns. Weekend work required and some evenings. Ability to conduct tours in French an asset. Positions are open to secondary and post secondary students.   

**Candidates must have been full-time students during the previous academic year and be returning to school full-time for the next academic year.**
