Fleurish Cannabis, a licensed producer creating cannabis for women,  is seeking a Post Harvest Manager (Full Time)

Location:    Kemptville, ON Salary Full time Role

We are seeking a full-time post-harvest manager to join our rapidly expanding team. The ideal candidate will manage the trimming; drying; bulk packaging; grinding & material/ inventory management.  The post-harvest manager will report to the Director of Operations and must be comfortable with weekend and or shiftwork when required and indoor greenhouse working conditions. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic and precise attention to detail.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Manage all post-harvest activities including: supervision of FT staff & temp help labor; as well as post-harvest of cannabis within processing & drying rooms
  • Work with Facility manager and Grow team via collaborative discussions in order to optimize facility; output quality cannabis within agreed upon timelines within grow cycle in an effective & efficient manner
  • Read; Develop & understand our Fleurish Standard Operating Procedure (SOP's), Health Canada Regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) principles, along with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Take the lead on creating & implementing SOP; s related to post harvest activities
  • Ensure all company Health, Safety; Health & Environmental policies are being followed to ensure safe work conditions
  • within the post-harvest areas.     Ensure post-harvest areas are maintained in a clean, organized & safe manner
  • Budget management for Post harvest labour and supplies - Identify and manage cost improvements and lead the development and execution of cost improvement and productivity ideas within the post harvesting area
  • Ensure personnel development and performance management planning for all direct and indirect reports, including ongoing proficiency training and smooth onboarding of new employees
  • Coordinates with Facility Manager on preventive maintenance schedule to avoid down time
  • Work closely with the Master Grower and other subject matter experts to relentlessly improve quality and yield
  • Communicate effectively with other department managers, supervisors and employees to ensure timely resolution of problems and accomplishments of post harvesting department and internal objectives
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Education:

  • Previous cannabis post-harvest management experience/knowledge required
  • Experience in a regulated and highly compliant environment is desired (i.e. food industry, pharmaceutical)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Multi-tasking; attention to detail in skilled & precision work; exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure consistency of product
  • Computer & math skills a must
  • Must have the ability to obtain PIC status as per Health Canada's Cannabis Act which means no criminal convictions in the past 10 years
  • Must be able to lift to 40 lbs
  • Must have own reliable transportation
